Fourier transform iterative method for synthesizing a pattern is recently proposed by Feng (1980). The accuracy and effieiency of the method are analyzed, and the result shows that in the shaped region, Fourier transform iterative method will converge to a desired shape, but the energy beyond the shaped region will increase as tha iterative number becomes larger. As example, synthesizing function by the method is given.
