Due to lack of adaptability to assess objective image quality and poor correlation between the existing assessment methods and subjective human perception, a no-reference image quality assessment method based on parameter estimation is proposed. In the method, the metrics of structural information, color information and visual information are extracted by analysing qualitative characteristics of the images themselves. Then, relevant parameter is estimated by regression analysis. Experimental results illustrate that the proposed method has better consistency and robustness with the subjective assessment of human beings than the other objective assessment methods, thus it can be used to describe the visual perception of the image effectively.
