Based on binary Zero Correlation Zone (ZCZ) periodic complementary sequence sets with even period, new quaternary ZCZ periodic complementary sequence sets are researched by using inverse Gray mapping. The optimality of the sequence sets is improved, which means, in certain conditions, the obtained sequence sets can achieve the theoretical bound, though the binary ZCZ periodic complementary sequence sets employed can not reach the theoretical bound. At the same time, the proposed scheme can get different quaternary ZCZ periodic complementary sequence sets by using different parameters. The research results show that the method can effectively increase the number of the quaternary ZCZ periodic complementary sequence sets, which are different from the sets obtained before, and provides more choices in practical engineering application.
