A fast angle estimation algorithm of coherently distributed targets based on bistatic MIMO radar is proposed. Firstly, the signal model of coherent distributed targets for bistatic MIMO radar is established. Then, Hadamard product rotational invariance property of the steering vectors of coherently distributed targets is proved based on the signal model. Finally, the estimations of the two-dimensional (2-D) transmit-receive central azimuths are obtained by using the property. Analyses indicate that the proposed algorithm need not search and can pair the parameters simply, which reduces the computational cost efficiently. Because the proposed algorithm does not assume the angular signal distribution functions of the targets, it can deal with different distributed targets with different angular signal distribution functions or unknown angular signal distribution functions, and it is robust. The correction and efficiency of the proposed method are verified with the computer simulation results.
