The detection of presence of decoy is the foundation of countering the Towed Radar Active Decoy (TRAD) and deciding the effect of ECCM. Based on the distinction of the amplitude characteristic on the condition of the decoy is present or not, the conditioned probability density functions (pdfs) of the measured amplitude are given. Generalized Maximum Likelihood (GML) detection of the presence of TRAD is developed with the amplitude characteristic. Simulation results with different condition illustrate the performance of the method.
