A Multipath Routing Algorithm for Ad hoc Networks Based on Channel Resistance

  • A multipath dynamic source routing algorithm based on channel resistance is presented. In the algorithm, the concept of channel resistance is defined and used for distributing data flow between different paths. Because the parameters of link quality are comprehensively considered in calculating channel resistance, the algorithm can reasonably distribute data flow to different paths according to their transmission ability. Simulations under NS2 environment prove that the new algorithm has better performance in balancing the network load and improving network throughput.
