Colorization of grayscale image is in general an active and challenging area of research in image processing. In this paper, current colorization algorithms are summarized. Then a colorization algorithm based on unevenness is proposed. According to the new algorithm, a better colorized result is got with less sensitivity to the initial color distribution.
